This role is for a fullstack engineer who leans frontend, has a strong product sense, and cares deeply about quality. You'll own experiences end-to-end, from system design to pixel polish, and help define what "usable" AI feels like.
You'll be part of a small, scrappy, high-context team working across the entire LLM stackfrom prompt design to infra to monitoring to customer-facing UX. We move fast, own our work, and prioritize quality + learning over throwing models at the wall.
It's ambitious, but we think this team has the potential to build something that becomes bigger than Amplitude's core business in a short period of time. And we have the support of the company to do that.
What you'll do:
- Build fullstack features with a bias to frontend and UX ownership
- Craft thoughtful, fast, responsive UI components that interact with LLMs and agents
- Work closely with backend engineers to build bridges into orchestration and infra
- Pair with PMs and designers to rapidly iterate on new ideas and prototypes
- Help define best practices for AI UXwhat does great prompting, feedback, and fallback look like?
- Own the end-user experience and obsess over polish
You might be a fit if:
- You have 6+ years of fullstack engineering experience
- You care deeply about design, usability, and building products people love
- You have strong product intuition and proactively identify improvements without being asked
- You're comfortable moving fast and making smart tradeoffs
- You've worked in early-stage or zero-to-one teams before
- You're curious about AI and excited to shape how it gets surfaced to users
Bonus if:
- You've built LLM apps, agents, or tools before
- You've been part of a small startup or skunkworks team and thrived in uncertainty
- You've been a founder or early-stage at a startup

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $244,000 - $368,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission).
Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in California outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. California salary range: $219,000 - $330,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission).
