What to Expect We are a product-focused global team creating the next-generation of server-side infrastructure and code to support Tesla's growing suite of products and services. We are seeking experienced SREs with expertise in infrastructure as a service, Kubernetes, GitOps, K8s Operator development, and platform security. The Fleetnet SRE team is part of the Vehicle Software division, working closely with backend application, data platform, and navigation teams. You will be part of a high-impact team at Tesla, playing a key role in shaping the future of automotive and energy technology. Your work will directly impact customers by enabling secure vehicle access via smartphones, sharing access with others, and delivering personalized experiences. The backend systems you support enable seamless over-the-air updates, keeping Tesla vehicles and devices ahead of the curve. The Fleetnet SRE role is diverse, with broad responsibilities and impact. If you're a motivated software engineer passionate about infrastructure, security, and reliability, this position is a great fit for you. What You'll Do Design and develop software that enables rapid prototyping while ensuring high reliability and availability. Lead the migration of large-scale, distributed fleet applications to cloud-native microservices. Influence architectural decisions focusing on security, scalability, and performance. Automate infrastructure build and deployment using Docker, Kubernetes, and other orchestration tools in a hybrid-cloud environment. Establish and maintain monitoring, metrics, and reporting systems for observability and alerting. What You'll Bring Experience in building and maintaining SaaS infrastructure. Expertise with Linux, networking, storage, virtualization, and automation tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Chef. Experience setting up and supporting CI/CD pipelines. Proficiency in high-level languages such as Python, Go, Ruby, or Java. Ability to scale through data-driven capacity planning in physical data centers and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills. A collaborative mindset with a passion for knowledge sharing and ownership.
