We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team and lead the charge in system integration and automation.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of software solutions for system integration and automation within the manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, process engineers, and IT teams to identify automation opportunities and develop innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with teams to optimize manufacturing processes and develop software systems for efficiency.
- Develop and maintain software applications that integrate with various manufacturing systems, including MES, ERP, and PLCs.
- Implement and optimize data acquisition, analysis, and reporting systems to support real-time decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Ensure software solutions can grow as needed, are easy to maintain, and follow industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, encouraging a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay current with new technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on system integration and automation in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or similar.
- Experience with manufacturing systems such as MES or equivalent experience, ERP, and PLCs.
- Strong understanding of data acquisition, analysis, and reporting tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proven track record of leading complex software projects from concept to deployment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based solutions and IoT technologies.
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications in manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
