This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities include the following:

  • Deep experience working with Linux, preferably in a large scale, distributed environment.
  • Understanding of networking technology and how servers and networks inter-relate.
  • Participation in deep-dive troubleshooting and technical post-mortem discussions to identify the root cause of complex issues.
  • Love to code, whether it's building tools in Java or solving complex system problems in Python.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodology and the ability to use the right tool for the right job.
  • Ability to build and deploy solutions across thousands of devices and strive to improve and streamline processes.

A day in the life consists of working with the ADC Analytics and Big Data Services team, which includes a mix of Systems Engineers, System Development Engineers, and Software Engineers. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Basic Qualifications:

- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)

- Currently hold an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology

- Bachelor's degree

- 5+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
