Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to provide technical expertise and systems engineering support to FAA programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of systems engineering principles and the ability to apply them across the full lifecycle of system development, from concept through implementation and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply systems engineering principles to support the investigation, analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, and evaluation of complex systems and procedures.
Review and prepare engineering reports, technical analysis, and safety documentation in compliance with FAA standards.
Draft project plans, safety justifications, engineering guidelines, and technical controls.
Provide recommendations for system and design improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Facilitate the transition from legacy systems to modernized platforms and technologies.
Support safety management activities, including hazard identification, risk mitigation planning, verification of safety measures, and residual risk assessment.
Deliver technical support for FAA programs, including: VHF and UHF Radio Contract – Ensure adequate supply and deployment of VHF Multimode Digital and UHF radios into the National Airspace System (NAS).
Ontario Rack Fabrication Contract – Support the development and award process.
Ancillary Equipment Procurements – Prepare acquisition and technical evaluation packages for related equipment, including antennas.
Emergency Transceiver Radio Program – Develop acquisition documentation and provide ongoing technical assistance.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in systems engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or federal government environments.
6-10 years of relevant experience.
Strong understanding of FAA systems and safety compliance requirements.
Experience supporting procurement and acquisition processes for technical equipment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver high-quality results in a dynamic environment.
Excellent communication, documentation, and technical writing skills.
