As a Systems Engineer SME with Capabilities and/or Requirements experience at MTSI, you will support the Operational Command and Control (C2) Acquisition Delta Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) team, located at USSF Space Systems Command (SSC) in El Segundo, CA. The C2 Acquisition Delta oversees software and architecture development within the C2 Joint Capability Areas (JCAs). A successful candidate should be a self-starter with initiative, excellent communication skills, the ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, and proven problem-solving skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform systems engineering and analysis services, including system development, enterprise and system architecture, acquisition, testing, operations, and sustainment support for existing and new capabilities.
Coordinate and lead efforts across multiple Capability IPTs focused on delivering different capabilities across the enterprise.
Lead cross-segment integration teams and working groups to identify, manage, and coordinate capability issues between branches (hardware, software, integration, requirements).
Evaluate prime contractor plans and schedules, identifying disconnects between programs.
Update and maintain relevant Capabilities documents.
Manage and maintain the configuration of definitions and criteria for capability increments.
Maintain traceability within the requirements database between requirements and capabilities.
Develop and refine customer requirements and architecture risk assessments.
Develop systems capability management processes and procedures to support current and future capabilities.
Identify, capture, and track capabilities and requirements relationships and inter-dependencies, providing recommendations based on analysis and best practices.
Provide expertise supporting proposed technical baseline changes, including capabilities development documents and mission impact analysis.
Support the development and maintenance of integration roadmap artifacts and capture key events and activities for communication and decision-making.
Perform systems engineering and program management functions for major reviews, evaluations, and verification activities.
Qualifications:
Minimum 15 years of relevant DoD/IC or industry experience.
Minimum 8 years of systems engineering experience.
At least 2 years of SAP and/or TS/SCI experience.
Experience with database management tools (DOORS, Access, Jira, Confluence, SQL).
Experience working with DoD or IC acquisition organizations.
Experience with Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) or SETA contracts.
Knowledge of requirements engineering and systems engineering processes.
Motivated self-starter who works well in fast-paced environments.
Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Willing to mentor colleagues.
Desired Experience:
Experience with Space Systems Command (SSC).
Knowledge of human factors, capability modeling, UML/SysML, and DoDAF/UAF frameworks.
Education / Certification:
B.S. in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field (required).
M.S. preferred.
Security Clearance:
Active Top Secret and SCI eligibility, SAP eligibility, U.S. citizenship required.
Location/Travel:
El Segundo, CA, hybrid work environment.
Travel up to 20% within the U.S.
