Title or Role: Systems Engineer Compensation: Up to $65.hour, commensurate with experience Location: 100% remote Length of Contract: 6 months
Position Description: We're looking for a highly skilled, experienced, and versatile Intermediate Systems Engineer to join a dynamic Information Technology (IT) team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on innovative projects, primarily focusing on cloud technologies hosted in Azure. The ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of technical support, systems engineering, and security, with a passion for ensuring system reliability and empowering teams through technology.
Responsibilities: Configure, support, and manage cloud technologies primarily hosted on Microsoft Azure. Perform backup restoration procedures and ensure data integrity. Implement and manage Group Policy Objects (GPO) and Organizational Units (OU) within Active Directory. Collaborate with the Information Security team to address and resolve identified security vulnerabilities and issues. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Open Tofu/Terraform, deployed via GitLab. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for various Windows environments, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and SQL. Work with virtualization technologies such as Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, and VMware. Participate in the infrastructure team's on-call rotation to provide timely support for critical systems Qualifications: Excellent PowerShell scripting for automation. 5+ years of experience in all the following: Systems engineering, technical support, or a related role. Backup technologies (Veeam experience is a plus). Cloud Platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure and its intricacies. IaC Tools, including Open Tofu/Terraform and GitLab. Windows Environments: Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL, and all Windows operating systems. Virtualization: Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, and VMware.
Strong understanding of security technologies and best practices Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology) preferred.
