GPD is currently seeking a Technology Engineering Designer in our Cleveland or Akron, OH office locations.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience in supporting engineers, architects, and clients in design and documentation for project work.
  • Must hold at least one of these credentials:
    • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering Technology field.
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering Technology field.
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
  • Must possess strong communication skills and ability to work within a team environment working with individuals from various offices.
  • MS Office products and Bluebeam experience preferred.
  • Some travel may be required on occasions.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.

Day-to-day job responsibilities:

  • Supporting projects with technical design and documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Assist with the development and design of the technology systems listed below:
    • Structured cabling infrastructure and pathways
    • Horizontal and backbone distribution systems
    • Low voltage grounding systems
    • 802.11 (WiFi) wireless systems
    • Paging systems
    • Audiovisual systems
    • Physical access control systems
    • Intrusion detection systems
    • Outside plan design
    • Riser Diagrams
    • Required design calculations.
  • Assist in developing specifications.
  • Perform site surveys.
  • Assist with Construction Administration:
    • RFIs.
    • Meetings with General Contractors, Clients, and Architects.
    • Site inspection and punch list
  • Adhere to quality assurance processes.
  • Develop technical problem-solving skills.
  • Communication and coordination with multi-disciplinary groups.
