We are seeking a highly skilled Tooling Engineer with a strong experience in designing stamping processes within a high-volume manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will focus on the design and development of metal tooling products used to make metal clips in a ceiling tile grid system. This role requires a deep understanding of precision tooling and die making to enhance production capabilities and drive innovation. Responsibilities
Design new tooling for producing metal clips for ceiling tile products and grid systems. Conduct 3D design of new, high-quality metal stamping dies. Maintain detailed documentation of tooling designs, modifications, and research findings. Prototype and develop high-quality metal stamping dies and tooling for high-volume manufacturing processes. Create prototypes and test new tooling designs to ensure they meet production standards and specifications. Utilize R&D/Shop equipment such as a Press Brake, Hydraulic Press, CNC Lathe, and Mill to build prototype tooling and dies. Essential Skills
Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing stamping processes within a high-volume manufacturing environment. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field or equivalent experience in a progression of positions. Proficiency in CAD software, with a preference for Solidworks, and other design tools used in tool and die making. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. High level of precision and attention to detail in all aspects of tooling design and development. A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with tooling design, tooling engineering, metal tooling, tool and die, and 3D design. Familiarity with prototyping, brake press, hydraulic press, lathe, mill, and die design. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
