Water/Wastewater Project Engineer (Mid-Level)

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer for ourTampa or Sarasota offices. As part of our design and process teams, you will be involved with a wide range of wastewater infrastructure projects. This will encompass all phases of design, including conceptual/feasibility evaluations, project management, preparation of design reports, permitting, development of construction drawings and specifications, and support of construction services.

Key Responsibilities: Support the development of technical treatment strategies, selection of treatment processes, developing process design criteria, and delivering projects Support coordination and collaboration with clients Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery. Support planning, design, permitting, and construction of wastewater-related projects. Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to effectively meet the client's needs Candidate shall also be able to support preparation of proposals and presentations Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel Required Qualifications: B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering PE license (ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of employment) 7-14 years of experience in the field of wastewater-related infrastructure, including project engineering/management (planning, design, and construction) Experience in successfully delivering supporting projects spanning multiple years in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams Proficient in all MS Office based computer software Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies Self-starter with attention to detail Strong organizational skills Must be capable of presenting complex issues to nontechnical people Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in Civil/Environmental Engineering What We Offer: Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans) Pre-tax flexible spending plans for medical, dependent care, and transportation Short and long-term disability, and employer paid life insurance Paid holidays, floating holidays, and paid time off (PTO) Employer-contributed 401(k) plan and additional financial planning support Professional growth opportunities, including tuition reimbursement, in-house training, and incentives for professional registration and professional organization memberships Starting pay range for this position depends on skills, experience, education and geographical location
