& Role Overview We are seeking a Application Engineer with hands-on experience in cutting tools, CNC machining, and process optimization in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have technical competency in tooling selection, tool life management, and lean manufacturing principles. This role supports productivity improvements and tooling initiatives in collaboration with manufacturing engineers and production teams. Responsibilities Identify and recommend tools best matched to application and machining parameters Troubleshoot performance and tool life issues; recommend corrective actions Analyze customer performance based on tool usage; suggest new tool designs for improvement Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors for tooling tasks and status updates Track tooling efficiency by department and lead tool life improvement initiatives Support quality and productivity improvement efforts Collaborate with manufacturers on tooling enhancements and issue resolution Provide support to Tooling, Process, and Manufacturing Engineers Attend plant production tooling meetings Qualifications Experience Degree or strong understanding in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical disciplines 2+ years of hands-on experience in cutting tools, metalworking, and process implementation Experience in tool life management, machine uptime, work-holding, and lean manufacturing Expertise in milling cutting tools, including indexable and solid carbide tools Understanding of materials, surface finishes, and surface treatments Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel (2 years required) Experience with CNC machining (2 years required) Ability to read and interpret blueprints Schedule 10-hour shift 8-hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Flexible spending account Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Referral program Relocation assistance Vision insurance
