Description Join Leidos Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) as a dynamic Cybersecurity Engineer, where you’ll leverage your skills at our state-of-the-art facility in Vista, CA. In this critical role, you will be an integral part of our Engineering team, tackling IT-related challenges and contributing to innovative software product development. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to design and maintain robust security systems for our aviation division. Your focus will be on hardening systems, implementing secure baselines, and resolving IT systems administration issues associated with our cutting-edge products. Primary Responsibilities Integrate essential security requirements into IT systems by facilitating system hardening, compliance checks, and conducting thorough vulnerability assessments. Manage and develop expertise across technical areas, including hardware, software, and networking to maintain Windows and Linux servers, both physical and virtual. Influence design and process decisions while collaborating with team leaders and the CIO to craft impactful IT solutions. Assist with infrastructure administration, including performing off-hours updates for Windows and Linux systems, and handling rack and stack duties for hardware installations. Conduct research and evaluate cutting-edge Cybersecurity tools and methodologies to establish automated best practices and documentation. Required Qualifications A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; Engineering Operations experience is a plus. Hands-on experience in setting up and troubleshooting Windows 10, Linux, Windows Server, TCP & UDP networking, Hyper-V, VMWare, and/or containerization platforms. Proficient at identifying, diagnosing, and resolving IT issues for engineering personnel, including personal computers, servers, and software tools, and ensuring smooth networking operations. Ability to assist functional groups for continuous improvement activities, which may include scripting or developing additional software tools. Possession of an active DoD Approved 8570/8140 Baseline Certification or ability to acquire one within 6 months (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+, CySA+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals). Preferred Qualifications Adept at troubleshooting common network problems across the OSI layer model. Familiarity with various Windows OS and multiple Linux distributions. Comfortable using Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK Stack), or Splunk. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Familiar with DISA STIGs and/or CIS Benchmarks.
