Software Development Engineer - Device Setup Solutions

The Frustration Free Setup (FFS) team is searching for a skilled and experienced Software Development Engineer to create innovative device setup solutions for Amazon and third-party products. This role is essential in enhancing customer experiences through SDK development and integration with cloud services. As a member of our team, you will work on the setup experiences for a range of Amazon devices, including Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, and Kindle, as well as third-party devices featuring Alexa integration. We look for engineers with a broad range of knowledge in software design and development, and a track record of successfully implementing agile methodologies. Your Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers. Design and implement customer-focused solutions with an emphasis on low latency, security, and usability. Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to translate their visions into technical solutions. Work closely with fellow Software Engineers to enforce development best practices. Own the end-to-end design of major deliverables. A Day in the Life: A typical day may involve: Participating in team stand-ups to share progress and plans. Creating system designs for upcoming projects. Writing and reviewing code contributions. Launching tested, robust code. Mentoring junior engineers. Engaging with partner teams to discuss future initiatives. About Our Team: The FFS program is dedicated to simplifying device setup for customers, making it as easy as opening a box and powering on a device. Our technology integrates smoothly into various smart devices, including speakers, cameras, TVs, and health gadgets. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of professional software development experience. 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture. Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience through the full software development lifecycle. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Experience in mobile development (iOS/Android) or embedded development (C/C++).
