The Digital Manufacturing Systems (DMS) team at Ford is building the digital factory of the future—a software-defined manufacturing ecosystem that integrates process, product, and production to empower operators and engineers like never before. As a key member of this innovative team, you will: Create robust backend systems to support manufacturing applications that drive defect reduction, throughput improvements, and safety in global factories. Build scalable APIs and data processing layers for real-time factory orchestration. Collaborate with app, data, and hardware teams to integrate backend systems into Ford’s digital twin. Support real-time insights for operator decision-making and automation. Contribute to Ford’s diagnostics platforms for efficient assembly operations. You'll have... 6+ years experience developing and deploying scalable systems in production environments with strong system design skills and expertise in languages like Python, Go, C++, or Rust. 3+ years experience working with and setting up various database types (SQL/NoSQL) and message queueing platforms (., Kafka, RabbitMQ). 2+ years experience leveraging cloud services (., AWS, Azure) and implementing container-based solutions with Docker. Nice to have… Exposure to manufacturing or real-time systems is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
