Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tooling Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in designing stamping processes within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role is research-based and requires a deep understanding of precision tooling and die making to enhance our production capabilities and drive innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Development: Develop and design high-quality metal stamping dies and tooling for high-volume manufacturing processes.
Research and Innovation: Conduct research to improve existing stamping processes and develop new techniques to increase efficiency and product quality.
Prototyping: Create prototypes and test new tooling designs to ensure they meet production standards and specifications.
Process Optimization: Analyze and optimize stamping processes to reduce production costs and improve throughput.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of new tooling designs into manufacturing operations.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Oversee the maintenance of the tooling equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of tooling designs, modifications, and research findings.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing stamping processes within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field or equivalent experience in a progression of positions.
Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD software and other design tools used in tool and die making.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues.
Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail in all aspects of tooling design and development.
Innovation: A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
